Saturday's in the South

Back to work today after an excellent weekend of Memphis BBQ, Football, More BBQ with a side of blues. I would consider the weekend one of the best road trips we have done. Items of note:

A. Memphis is a pretty solid weekend trip. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to eat, drink, listen to music, travel etc.; in other words, pretty much everyone. The city is big enough to have plenty to do, yet small enough that you can manage to get your way around easily.

B. As I heard on a couple occasions; Ole Miss may not win the game, but they always win the party. The scene at The Grove is a must-see for anyone who claims to be a die hard tailgater. But think less burgers and dogs, more catered meals, sun dresses and bourbon. Did I mention the Bourbon, for some reason the city of oxford decided that allowing liqour, but not beer, would be a good idea. Sounds like more like a recipe for a black out rather than safety, but I digress...

C. Anyone can lose on any Saturday in the SEC. Walking into Vaught Hemmingway stadium Florida was favored heavily. I mean very heavily. Walking out, they were humbled. If they were not walking out of the stadium, you can bet they were after walking out of Tuesdays practice.

Yeah, Tebow played good. 162 yards on the ground good. But if he has got to carry the ball 27 times a game to do it, you can keep all 162 of them. Crazy I know, but how about this weekend, lets give Keystann a try to establish the run.

And how about giving up over 300 in the air to Ole Miss. I have nightmares about what LSU will do to that secondary.

All in all. The weekend was a sucess, we drank plenty, met some of the nicest folks out there, and got a way with a win. I reccomend the trip to anyone. Seriously, put it on the list of places to see before you have 7 kids to take with you.

Niner.
